Aaron's Story

Did a million things right out of HS. Firefighter/Paramedic 13 years. Professional hunter / trapper / tracker 45 years - contract Predator Controller for Colorado Division Of Wildlife for 7½ years. Carpenter for Rocky Mountain Church Builders and now defunct company from Boulder, Colorado - as a carpenter, working with building a dam near Copan, Oklahoma,, as part of the Frying Pan Arkansas project. Contract Timber Sawyer with FEMA fighting forest fires as a sawyer. Worked on four of five fires in Yellowstone in 1988. Also was a sawyer on the Buttercup fire near Lame Deer, Montana. Logger in 5 states (Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and coastal Washington State, while obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (had to feed the family!) at Pacific Lutheran University (graduated Cum Laude 1993 and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau (International Nurses Honor Society). In 1993, when I completed my undergraduate studies, I also received the US Army "Spirit Of Nursing Award" , and the US Air Force "Nursing Leadership Award. Wasn't a fan of High School but absolutely loved college! Couldn't absorb enough learning. I graduated with 143⅔ credits of a required 128 credits and completed 1,860 clinical hours of a required 1,100 hours. Returned to Colorado in 95 when I was accepted into University of Colorado Medical School. Made a last minute decision however, and withdrew before the start of my 1st semester in medical school. Made me sad, but I figured I had put my family through enough without them having to do me gone all the time while doing internships & residencies. So I took the GRE and was accepted into the Family Nurse Practitioner School at University of Colorado. Winner of "Tamarac Square Scholars Award" in 1998, and received n invitation to complete my Master's Degree at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. I was honored to receive the invitation, but my family had already been relocated 4 times across 3 states, and I couldn't put them through another 1,000+ mile move. I Published my Thesis Research -"Acute Healthcare Seeking Behavior of the Lower Middle Class Along the Front Range of Colorado". Study findings were incorporated into National " Healthy People 2000" project of President W. Clinton. Bound copies of my thesis are in the medical libraries of Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Evans Army Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Parkview Hospital, Pueblo, Colorado; and St. Thomas More Hospital, Cañon City, Colorado. I finished my Master's of Science Degree in 2000. Family Practice Nurse Practitioner practicing until I was disabled at Fort Carson in 2013. Now I live very rural, in the "high lonesome" of the Colorado Rocky Mountains southwest of Pikes Peak. Love the Colorado mountains and dislike when I have to go to town in Colorado Springs or even in Woodland Park, which is the half...Expand for more
-way point between my home and Colorado Springs. I don't do cities very well. Give me the sounds of wind, geese flying over, elk bugling during the rut, and fishing in the high country rivers. Give me my deer friends over most people any day. I am a Native American flute artist. I have come to believe that the wood flutes must have been made to play in the mountains because that's where they sound the best. It wasn't long before I was asked to make a CD for the CWWC. I had no idea how. So I got some gear, a few apps, put myself together a studio, and bought a bunch of books. Taught myself sound engineering and graphic design, and went to making a CD. I have released only one CD at this time. It was done with the inspiration and voices of the wolves at the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center (CWWC), which is about 15 miles from my home. The wolves and to a lesser extent, the foxes love to sing along with me as I play. So they all are the perfect choir! So much so that I infact dedicated track #4 on my "Kindred Spirits"CD to JUST the voices of the wolves. They have all become such close friends of that I know every voice in the Wolves Choir and can pick out each wolf's voice as they all 'sing' together! I'm pretty proud of my first CD though. I recorded it, mixed, and mastered it, designed and made the folder, and the logo for Touch The Sky Productions Ltd (my new company), and about 200 hours later, I released my first CD under the name "Kindred Spirits" in honor of my my relationship with my wolf and fox friends. Kindred Spirits will never be in the "Top 40", but that's not why I made it. It has however, played in 14 countries across 4 continents and won awards from Billboard (US) and Sidewalk (UK). It was also adopted as the meditation music for the "Fort Carson Captain's Meditation Group" . I have enough original works to do about 3½ more CD's, but lost my studio to a water disaster. So I must build a new studio. I bought property with a great building that is sits on my land about 65 yards from my home. It was built as a shop, but would be the perfect studio. I began working on sound proofing and wiring when I became disabled then came down with non-hodgkins lymphoma and myasthenia gravis. My body has taken quite a beating the past few years and I'm pretty crippled up, but I'm not giving up and sure look forward to getting it done so I can get back to recording, counting on my fingers to be able to still play! You can find my Kindred Spirits CD in its entirety listed on u-tube under "Aaron Lawrence Kindred Spirits" (NOTE: All natural sounds on the CD are real and recorded by me, and all instruments whether musical or percussion are played by me and recorded as tracks to mix together. Let me know if you'd be interested in a physical copy of "Aaron Lawrence Kindred Spirits with the CWWC Wolves" God bless y'all and take care! 🪶
